'Legacy avionics' C-5A leaves 105AW

Newburgh, NY – First in, Last out. C-5A tail 015, the first strategic airlifter assigned to the 105th Airlift Wing on July 2, 1985 and the only ‘Legacy’ aircraft remaining, takes-off here Mar. 18, 2011 heading off to its new home at the 164th AW in Memphis, TN. Stewart’s remaining C-5A Galaxys’ have completed the Avionics Modernization Program upgrades and will be transitioned out in the coming year as the 105AW converts to C-17 Globemaster III operations.
