105 Airlift Wing August Unit Training Assembly Retreat Ceremony
STEWART AIR NATIONAL GUARD BASE - Air Guardsmen Staff Sgt. Anthony Rivera receives a Presidential Volunteer service award. Rivera and 12 fellow Airmen who also received awards volunteered their own personal time on the 213 Engineering Installation Squadron sponsored projects, sometimes working in extreme conditions. They participated in a number of projects such as: NYS Dept of Parks Communication Installation project, Toys for Tots, Donations of furniture and clothing for Vietnam Veterans and the NY Fire Dept., volunteered to assist during weekend coastal clean-up and helped clean up shoreline waste at Staatsburg, NY. The President's Volunteer Service Award recognizes individuals, families, and groups that have achieved a certain standard measured by the number of hours of service over a 12-month period or cumulative hours earned over the course of a lifetime.
