105AW Airmen presented an Air National Guard CSTEA Award

Brenda Asher a management analyst with the National Guard Bureau, and Col Timothy J. LaBarge, commander 105th Airlift Wing New York Air National Guard, and key members of the ANG Chief of Staff Team Excellence Award winning Air Ground Operations Recovery Team, CMSgt Mark Cozzupoli, SSgt Immanuel Mainz, MSgt Elizabeth Colton, CMSgt Daniel Wessberg, 1Lt Patrick Gillen and Maj Kimberly Cardona-Smith, at an award presentation held at Stewart ANGB, N.Y, Aug. 27, 2013. The 105th AGORT Team was selected for this prestigious award due to their exemplary performance during the immediate aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. This team utilized experiences gained while deployed to Camp Bastion, Afghanistan to initiate and sustain the first ever Aerial Port of Debarkation for Stewart Air National Guard Base. The actions of these Airmen directly supported the relief efforts of the most devastated areas of New York, restoring hope to the people in those communities. (Air National Guard photo by Tech. Sgt.
